Sunday, April 12 — driving to Tucson

Sunday morning in the Grand Canyon — Look who we found outside our bedroom window!

We needed to take one last look at the canyon...

And then we drove south, heading for Tucson.

Along the way, south of Flagstaff, we drove through the lovely red rocks of Sedona.

The photos here do not even begin to show you the beauty of this place.

In the town, we saw a sign saying "ART SHOW," so we stopped here.

Anne Marie and I both got ice cream cones. (Sorry, I failed to take a photo to document the ice cream.)  Marie Therese purchased a pretty souvenir to take back to France.

Much later, south of Phoenix, we went inside a Mc Donald's (!) for coffee. Oui! Once again, I failed to document this historical fact with a photo.

Finally, we arrived at the home of my good friend, Betsy, in Tucson.

Here we are in Betsy's garden, picking strawberries!

When the sun is very low in the sky, the Catalina Mountains look like they are on fire!

This is what we see from Betsy's house:

Nous sommes dans un univers paradisiaque...des grenadiers en fleurs, des cactus varies, des bougainvilliers, la piscine, et le bassin avec ses lotus!
